Harrow and Ellis win again
by Larry Chowning
The Middlesex High girls cross-country team won a quad-meet between Essex, Lancaster and St. Margaret’s on October 1 behind the running of Leigh Harrow, who continues to dominate Region A competition.
The Lady Chargers won the team competition with 20 points. Essex had 38, and both Lancaster and St. Margaret’s did not have enough varsity runners to make a team. It takes five runners to have a scoring team.
Lancaster was first in the boys competition with 20 points, and Middlesex was second with 41. Essex did not have enough runners to make a team.
Both Harrow and Ellis are top runners in Region A and have a shot at placing in the State Group A Championship to be held in November at Great Meadows State Park in Warrington.
The Chargers will run at King William against the Cavaliers and West Point on Wednesday, October 23.
