Free hitting clinic due Sunday at Cooks Corner

Travis Myers, a former All-State Christchurch School and Marshall University baseball player, will conduct a free hitting clinic at the Tom Carter Memorial Gym at Cooks Corner on Sunday, March 2. There will be three hitting sessions, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Myers played on back-to-back state runner-up teams at Christchurch and on the 2009 16-and-under World Wood Bat champion team in a field of over 260 teams from all over the world.

Myers will be assisted by his father who has coached over 30 Division I baseball players, including players from Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia Tech among others.

Individuals ages 8-17 are invited. Those who wish to participate should call 832-5132 to schedule a time.

The free hitting clinic is sponsored by the Middlesex Department of Parks & Recreation.
