The Middlesex High School JV baseball team (1-0, 3-3) defeated West Point 12-0 on April 11 in its Tidewater District opener at Deltaville Ball Park.

MHS 8th-grader Alex Fitchett pitched his second no-hitter of the season. He faced 15 batters during the game and struck out 14. “Alex pitched yet another outstanding game for us,” said MHS coach Dustin Harris.“His fastball overpowered the West Point bats and he did a great job locating his pitches.”

Freshman Trey Blankenship paced the Chargers at the plate by going 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs. Freshman Adam White was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs, and Fitchett went 2 for 2 with an RBI. Sophomore Vance Medina and freshman Jacob Kirby each had an RBI in the game.

The Chargers will visit King William on Thursday, April 18, at 5 p.m.
