The Middlesex Little League and District 15 will host the Junior Little League State Tournament Friday through Wednesday, July 24-29, at the Middlesex Sports Complex at Locust Hill.

Champions from 15 of the Virginia Little League’s 16 districts will arrive in the county today, July 23. (District 16 does not have Junior Little League and are not represented in the tournament.)

An opening ceremony with all of the players in uniform and on the field will begin at 6 p.m. July 23. After the ceremony, all the players and their families will head to The Beacon at Topping for a picnic dinner.

After spending the night in area motels, the teams will begin play on Friday. Seven games will be played in a “pool play’ format each day, Friday through Sunday, July 24-26, beginning at 9 a.m. each morning.
