Ellis wins Region A title, again

Middlesex’s Ridge Ellis won the individual championship at the Region A cross-country meet on November 1 at Eastern State in Williamsburg. Ellis won the 3.2-mile race with a time of 17:43.42.
The Middlesex boys team finished fourth in the team competition, which qualifies it to compete as a team in the State Group A meet at Great Meadows State Park in Warrenton at 9 a.m. this Saturday, November 10.
Jacob Self was the Chargers’ best runner at the regional meet with a 21st place finish with a time of 19:25.34.
Other MHS runners and times included: Patrick Perry, 26th, 19:41.89; Tyrik Audain, 44th, 21:01.32; and Anthony Green, 45th, 21:01.95.
The sixth and seventh Charger runners were Kyle Forst, 59th, 21:55.01; and Jun Yoon, 67th, 23:23.85.
Mathews won the team competition with 43 points; Washington & Lee was right behind the Blue Devils with 44 points; Lancaster was third with 67 points; and Middlesex had 135 points for fourth.
Northampton was fifth, 155 points; King William, sixth, 177; West Point, seventh, 185; Northumberland, eighth, 193; Essex, ninth, 219; Nandua, 10th, 281; and Franklin, 11th, 355 points.
