Ellis, King pace MHS trackmen

The Middlesex Boys track team captured a tri-meet against West Point and Lancaster at West Point on April 9. Middlesex won with 80 points. Lancaster was second with 66, and West Point was third with 17.

The Chargers were paced by double winner Ridge Ellis, who won the 1600 meters (5:07) and the 800 meters (2:16). Ellis also contributed by placing fourth in the high jump (5’2”). He tallied 12 points in individual competition and was the meet’s top scorer.

D’Angelo King won the triple jump (38’2”), finished second in the long jump (18’1”), and second in the 100 meters (11.92). Malik Green won the 400 meters (54.29), while Tyran Hayes contributed a second in the long jump (17’9”) and Demonte Sutton was second in the triple jump (33’6”).

Others to score were Tarik Audain, third, 400 meters (1:00); Kyle Forst, fourth, 400 meters (1:03); Gregory Robinson, second, high jump (5’4”). Robinson tied for the winning jump but a West Point jumper had fewer misses and was awarded first place.

In the weight classes, Barron Lawson finished second in the shot put (38’8”), and Kaleb Wake was fourth (35’10”). Wake finished second in the discus (94’3 1/2”), just 2 inches off the winning West Point throw, while Lawson was fourth (82’10 1/2”).

Robinson finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles (19.4) and second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (49.37). Sean Johnson was third (21.4) in the 110-meter high hurdles and Sutton was third in the 300-meter hurdles.

Green was third in the 800 meters (2:27) and Joseph Nordan was fourth (2:28). Robert Drewry finished second in the 200 meters (25.1), and Patrick Perry was third in the 3200 meters (12:35).
The Chargers won the 4x400 meter relay and finished second in the 4x100 meter relay.

Middlesex ran at King William on April 17 and will compete in the West Point Invitational this Saturday.
