Donkey baseball game rescheduled for Sept. 18

The donkey baseball game scheduled for August 29 at Deltaville Ballpark between the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department of Deltaville and Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department has been rescheduled to Friday, September 18, at 7 p.m. at Deltaville Ballpark.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience for having to reschedule,” said Mike Ward, event coordinator.

On September 18, firemen will ride donkeys while attempting to hit the ball, run the bases, field the ball and everything else that goes into a baseball game.

Tickets are $5 and are available at Tall Chief Market, The Medicine Shoppe and Hurd’s Hardware.

Fans are welcome to watch the game in the stands or bring lawn chairs and blankets and sit in the outfield.

At intermission, free donkey rides will be given to children.

A concession stand run by the fire departments will be open.

Call Mike Ward at 804-758-3160 for more information.
