Offense was not a problem for the Deltaville Deltas in their past two games, as they powered past the Richmond Orioles 15-6 before shutting out the Richmond Mets 15-0.

With the wins, Deltaville improved to 4-1 on the season, and 3-0 in league play.

Deltaville took to the field on the road in Richmond on Wednesday, June 14, but results were not available before press time. The Deltas return home on Saturday, June 17, for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Richmond Tigers at Deltaville Ballpark.

Deltas 15, Orioles 6
Deltaville jumped to an early 5-0 lead capped by a 2-out, 2-run double by Ryan Wiggins, the Deltas bats fell silent, and the Orioles closed the gap to within 5-3 after 5 innings of play. In the 6th, Deltaville came alive again, and with runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Orioles intentionally walked the hot-hitting Wiggins. Three pitches later, Alex Fitchett made them pay, driving a grand slam home run over the left field wall to break the game open.

The Orioles answered with runs in the bottom of the 6th and 7th innings to close to within 9-6, but Deltaville put the game away, plating 3 more runs in both the 8th and 9th innings to seal the win.

Jack Jett was the winning pitcher for Deltaville, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) over 5 innings, and striking out 8. Leading the offense, Wiggins scored 3 runs while driving in 2 more on 3-for-4 hitting, and Fitchett drove in 6 on a 2-for-5 night. Cory Peel reached base and scored in 4 of his 5 plate appearances.

Deltas 15, Mets 0
For two and a half innings, the Deltas and Mets locked into a defensive dual at Deltaville Ballpark. But when the Deltaville bats awoke in the 3rd, there was little question of the eventual outcome.

Deltaville plated 5 runs in the 3rd, and then ran away with a 15-0 victory on Saturday night.

Every Deltas batter that came to the plate reached base at least once, and 11 different starters and reserves scored at least 1 run in the hit parade that encompassed the 3rd through 6th innings.

Alex Fitchett once again led all hitters with a 2-hit, 3-RBI performance. Jason Wood was responsible for 4 runs, scoring twice and driving in 2 more in a 2-for-3 night.

On the mound, 2nd-year Deltas pitcher Paul Jones scattered just 5 hits over 6 shutout innings. He struck out 9 batters while issuing just 1 walk.
