Last Saturday the Middlesex Colts Mites, led by a stingy defense and the running of Xzavion Griffin, defeated the York Seaford Bulldogs 19-6 in Seaford.

In the first half, York Seaford scored first to take a 6-0 lead. The Colts quickly responded as Griffin broke loose for a 37-yard touchdown run. Griffin then bulled his way around, over, and through 5 Bulldog defenders for the conversion to give the Colts a 7-6 lead.

In the second half, the Colts dominated the game on both offense and defense as Griffin scored on runs of 35 and 45 yards, and the Colt defense forced two Bulldog turnovers to secure the victory.

The Colts Mites coaches commented that they were proud of the total team effort put forth by the young Mites. The coaches also praised the Mites parents for their enthusiasm and support.

This Saturday, September 28, the Colts travel to Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg to take on the James City Jaguars. Game times are 9:30 a.m. Mites; 11 a.m. Mighty Mites; 12:30 p.m. Midgets; and 2 p.m. Juniors.
