Chargers earn 5-2 road win at W&L

Kyle Lawson and Jeremy Collier combined to pitch a 3-hitter and Zach Belcher delivered a key hit to lead the Middlesex Chargers varsity baseball team to a 5-2 win over Washington & Lee on March 28 in Montross.
The game was tied 2-2 going into the 7th inning when the Chargers erupted for 3 runs to win the game. Andrew Dozier started the winning rally with a walk, Jeremy Collier singled, Hunter Davis was hit by a pitch and John Purcell was walked to force home a run and give MHS a 3-2 lead. Belcher then cracked a 2-run single to provide 2 insurance runs.
Middlesex (2-1) is off this week for spring break and will return to action on Tuesday, April 9, for a 5 p.m. game at Rappahannock.
The Chargers open Tidewater District play on Thursday, April 11, at West Point.
