Enrique Gonzales, Eric Kane, Marshall Shermer, Chad Page and James Williams all had one win in the meet.
“Our grapplers wrestled great,” said MHS coach Joel Anderson. “They finally got the fire back. I am glad to see our team members support each other and get their focus back.”
The Chargers are 15-3 on the season as a team going into the Mathews Duals this Saturday, January 25. It will be final regular season matches of the year for the Chargers. “From this point on it is going to be a battle for who wants to go to state [tournament] the most,” said Anderson.
“We had great community support. Now we need to fine tune and put the finishing touches on our practice to be at our best for the regional [tournament],” he said.
The Chargers will compete in the Tidewater District meet on Wednesday, January 29, at King William. The conference meet will be held Wednesday, February 5, at Middlesex High School in Saluda.
