The Middlesex High School wrestling team compiled a 2-2 record against teams in the Franklin Round-Robin Wrestling Tournament last Saturday at Franklin High School. The Chargers defeated Lake Taylor and Essex, and lost to Lancaster and Southampton.
MHS nipped Lake Taylor 39-38. Lake Taylor, a public high school in Norfolk, was the highest seeded team in the Chargers’ bracket. MHS assistant coach Lee Anderson said Lake Taylor was one of the teams strongly favored to win the tournament and MHS won in a hard fought match.
Middlesex’s last home meet will be Thursday, January 17, against King and Queen High School.
On Saturday, January 26, the Chargers will participate in the Mathews High School Invitational.
