Middlesex varsity baseball team head coach Tim Blake is looking to improve his team’s chances in a competitive Tidewater District.

“We’re looking to compete a little better than we did last year and take some steps forward,” said Blake. “We want to stay in the games and give ourselves a chance to win.”

Blake and assistant coach Dustin Harris are developing a team that has 10 returning players, including two seniors, four juniors and four sophomores.

The varsity Chargers are scheduled to scrimmage at Essex on Thursday, March 8, at 4:30 p.m. The Chargers open their regular season at W&L on Tuesday, March 13, at 4:30 p.m.

Their first home game is Friday, March 16, at 4:30 at MHS against Lancaster. See MHS sports schedules in this edition.
