Troop 341 Scouts at the Sports Shooting Camp included, front from left, Will Callis, James Williams and Hughes Nelson; and back row, Victor Knez, Judy Fochtmann, John Williams, Roy Fochtmann, Will Fochtmann, Brett Fochtmann, assistant scoutmaster Mike Knez and Michael Knez.

Scouts and parents of Boy Scout Troop 341 participated in the National Rifle Association (NRA) Sports Shooting Camp held by the Middlesex Sportsmen’s Hunt Club at the club shooting range in Hartfield on Saturday.

The Scouts were taught about the safe handling of firearms on the range, in the home and while hunting.  Under the direct supervision of certified firearms instructors, they enjoyed skeet shooting with shotguns and target shooting with rifles and muzzleloaders.

The troop participated in this event as part of a troop camping weekend.

The troop has an active program including camping, merit badges, and skills training and is sponsored by Christ Church Parish.  Anyone interested in helping with or joining the troop may contact the scoutmaster at 776-7445.
