American Legion baseball returns to Middlesex

The Christopher C. Curtis American Legion Post 241 baseball team, a new Middlesex-based team, opened its season last week with a win and two losses against Williamsburg Post 39.

The Post 241 team has players from Middlesex, Lancaster, Northumberland, Rappahannock and Essex counties.

The team is sponsored by American Legion Post 241 and primarily funded by Horizon Trust and Revere Gas. William Bagby of Post 241 is the “athletic director” of the team.

The head coach is Tim Blake and assistant coaches are Greg Harrow, Jock Pitts and Craig Revere. The bookkeeper is Chad Brown. Fitchett is the manager of the team.
