All-State Seahorses

Above are the Christchurch School (CCS) football players who received postseason league honors in 2017. The Seahorses, which finished the regular season ranked number 4 in the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II rankings, beat top-ranked Blue Ridge School in the semifinals and then went on to win 43-27 over Norfolk Christian for the state championship. CCS quarterback Steven Stilianos of Hayes was named VISAA Division II Player-of-the-Year, and CCS Coach Ed Homer was named Coach-of-the-Year. Above, from left, are Jaylyn Kreimes, Sharps, first team defensive back; Bob Kabonero, Rockville, Md., second team offensive line; Steven Stilianos, Hayes, Player-of-the-Year and first team defensive line and second team quarterback; B Pressley, Beaverdam, first team tight end; Peyton Ryder, Hampton, first team linebacker; and Jamar Darboe, Kinston, N.C., first team running back and first team linebacker.
