The Deltaville Deltas edged the Hampton Roads Hurricanes 1-0 on Saturday night in Deltaville, but lost 6-3 in Grafton on Sunday. The split leaves the Deltas on top of Southern Virginia Adult Baseball League (SVABL) standings with a record of 10-5. The Hurricanes slipped to third with a 7-5 mark.
This weekend the Deltas are idle for the SVABL All-Star Game. Six Deltas will join the league’s top players on Saturday in Deltaville for a 7 p.m. game, which will be preceded by a Home Run Derby at 4 p.m. The Deltas will return to action on July 19 with a three-game series against the Peninsula Pirates.
