2010 Opti Nationals (Optimist Dinghy Nationals)
The Fishing Bay Yacht Club on Stove Point in Deltaville will be the host of the 2010 United States Optimist Dinghy Association (USODA) Layline Nationals sailing championships from Friday, July 16, through Saturday, July 24. The Optis are 8-foot long dinghy sailboats piloted by youngsters.

Leukemia Cup success continues
The 12th annual Southern Chesapeake Leukemia Cup Regatta held in Deltaville over the weekend of July 9-11 was a big success with 79 registered yachts and enthusiastic crowds at the auction and gala, which helped to raise over an estimated $130,000 in cash and in-kind donations to support patients with blood cancers.

The Middlesex Junior League All-Star Baseball team finished an impressive third in the 10-team District 15 Little League Tournament at the Middlesex Sports Complex in Locust Hill.

Mariners rally past Deltas 7-5; final battle is Friday
Middle Peninsula got two home runs in the 9th inning to erase a 5-3 deficit and post a 7-5 win over the Deltaville Deltas Friday night at Deltaville Ballpark. The Mariners and Deltas face off for the final time this season Friday, July 16, in Deltaville at 7:30 p.m.
