Sizzling shooting leads Middlesex past Pointers
Still in the hunt for the Tidewater District title. That’s what the Middlesex High varsity boys basketball team is after Monday night’s 58-52 home win over West Point. The Chargers of coach Patrick Weller are now 3-2 in the district with three games remaining.

MHS girls Senior Night is Tuesday
A late rally by the Middlesex High girls varsity basketball team fell short in a 36-30 loss at Mathews on February 4. The aggressive Mathews defense held Middlesex to 3 points in the first quarter and led 19-11 at the half.

Payne signs to play football at CNU
Middlesex High School football standout Scott Payne has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Christopher Newport University in Newport News in the fall to play football for the Captains. Payne has been an All-District offensive guard and defensive end for the Chargers over the past four years.

JV Chargers host Mathews Saturday
The Chargers will visit King and Queen Thursday, February 11; will visit King William Friday, February 12; and will host Mathews on Saturday, February 13, in their final home game of the regular season.
