Turnovers doom MHS in opener
The Middlesex Chargers opened their 2013-14 varsity basketball season on Monday with a 71-47 loss at Surry. With football season extending an extra week this season, MHS first-year head coach Jason Williams and assistant coach Jon Hatch had only a couple of weeks to prepare the basketball team for its season opener.

The Peninsula Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization (PYFCO) recently honored 76 Middlesex Colts youth football players and cheerleaders for their academic achievements. Academic All-Stars recipients are determined by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 and above for the previous school year in the core subjects, such as reading, math, social studies and science.
12.05.2013Youth basketball signup deadline extended
The registration deadline for ages 6-14 to play in the Middlesex Youth Basketball League (MYBL) has been extended to January 4. With the proper number of signups, the girls will be separated from the boys at the Starter Division level (6-8 year olds).

“We’ve got a large team in numbers and someone to wrestle in every weight class except one,” said MHS coach Joel Anderson. “We also have a great many wrestlers coming up from the youth wrestling program, which is going to help us greatly.”
