Free hitting clinic due Sunday at Cooks Corner
Travis Myers, a former All-State Christchurch School and Marshall University baseball player, will conduct a free hitting clinic at the Tom Carter Memorial Gym at Cooks Corner on Sunday, March 2. There will be three hitting sessions, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Chargers begin tournament play
image“Conference 42” has replaced the Tidewater District designation. There are six teams including King & Queen, Mathews, Middlesex, West Point, Charles City and Chesterfield Community.


JV Lady Chargers rally past Mathews to win conference
In the 2013-14 season, the Middlesex JV Lady Chargers basketball team finished the season 5-1 in Conference 42 and 12-1 overall. Their only loss was to Conference 42 rival Mathews 32-31 in January.


St. Clare Walker to host Shamrock Shuffle 5K & Leprechaun Fun Run
imageSt. Clare Walker Middle School in Locust Hill will host a Shamrock Shuffle 5K & Leprechaun Fun Run on Saturday, March 15. Both the Leprechaun Fun Run, which is a one-mile kids’ run, and the Shamrock Shuffle, a 3.1-mile race, will begin in the bus loop at the school and continue down Philpot Road past Middlesex Elementary for an out-and-back course.
