Young but experienced Chargers to host Mathews
imageThe Middlesex High School Chargers varsity football team will open its regular season at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 1, against long-time district foe Mathews at the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex at MHS in Saluda.

Lady Chargers down Raiders, Red Devils
The Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team opened the season on August 23 with a win at Rappahannock in five games. “The girls were full of energy and ready to play,” said Lady Charger coach Kelsey Hainley. “We had to fight for the win, but the players did an excellent job.”


PRGC crowns club champions
The 2016 Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC) Club Championship was held August 20-21. Carole Martin successfully defended her 2015 title with impressive scores of 82 and 80 to retain her title as Ladies Club Champion.


MHS golfers notch wins over Northumberland and Mathews
The Middlesex High School golf team improved to 6-2 this week with wins on Monday over Northumberland and Mathews at the King Carter Golf Club in Irvington, and a conference win over Mathews on Tuesday at Piankantank River Golf Club (PRGC) in Hartfield.
