MHS girls eliminated by West Point
imageThe Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team lost some close games to West Point in the semifinals of the Tidewater District Tournament on Monday, which ended the Lady Chargers’ season.

MHS cross-country teams finish 2nd at Beaverdam
Middlesex High School (MHS) senior Ridge Ellis won the Conference 42 boys cross-country championship (5K) at Beaverdam Park in Gloucester on October 29 with a time of 16:44. In the team competition, the Chargers placed second to Mathews.


MHS JVs overwhelm Devils 50-14
The Middlesex High School (MHS) junior varsity football team (5-2-1) ripped Mathews 50-14 Monday night at home in its final regular season game. The win gave the JV Chargers a 3-0 Conference 42 record.


Seahorses make playoffs
imageFernando Lewis (Newport News) carried the playoff hopes of the Fighting Seahorses on his back for the final two weeks of the regular season. And he delivered. Lewis’ 395 yards on 24 carries gave him an average of over 16 yards per carry.
