Charger spring sports begin this week
Middlesex High School spring sports got under way this week. Due to the current construction of the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex at MHS, all soccer, tennis, and track and field events will be played away.

Middlesex United makes strong showing
imageMiddlesex County was represented in the 2013-14 Indoor and Futsal Soccer League at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) with three Middlesex United teams, one each in the divisions under age 12 (U12), under age 14 (U14), and under age 18 (U18).


Travis Myers’ free hitting clinic set for this Sunday
Travis Myers, a former All-State Christchurch School and Marshall University baseball player, will conduct a free hitting clinic at the Tom Carter Memorial Gym at Cooks Corner on Sunday, March 16. There will be three hitting sessions, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sessions will be 45 minutes long.


Boating safety class Saturday in Deltaville
U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Auxiliary Flotilla 62 of Deltaville will offer the About Boating Safety (ABS) class from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at its USCG Auxiliary Training Center, 83 Ball Park Rd., Deltaville. There will be a 45-minute break for lunch on your own.
