MHS girls tennis team wins opener
An experienced Middlesex High School girls tennis team opened it regular season on March 16 with an 8-1 road victory over Northampton on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The Middlesex varsity tennis team has numerous returning players and a few new faces.

White Wins 4th at AQHA World Championship Show
imageDana Lynn White of Columbia in Goochland County earned 4th place in Amateur Breakaway Roping at the 2016 American Quarter Horse World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, OK. White showed her American Quarter Horse, Dash N Model.


Lady Chargers to host Red Devils in opener
Middlesex High varsity softball coach Dave Gabeler said he’s “feeling optimistic” about this year’s Lady Chargers even though the team only has four returning starters. “We will have to replace five seniors who all produced for us last year,” said Gabeler.


Hickey joins Y team as program & facility director
imageThe Middlesex Family YMCA has welcomed new program and facility operations director Joe Hickey. “Ranger Joe,” as he is known to local youth, joined the YMCA team on March 15. Coming to the Y from the Boy Scouts of America as the Ranger at the Bayport Scout Reservation, Hickey brings deep experience to the YMCA.
