MHS hosts Lancaster Thursday; Indians Saturday

Lady Chargers place 2nd in tournament
An aggressive Group AA James Monroe team started quick in the title game and Middlesex was not ready, said MHS coach William Griffin. “Their guards were too fast for us,” he said. “We were in awe of them. We missed some open opportunities, we were flat, and they were going after everything.”


Essex nips MHS JVs
imageA basket by Middlesex’s Malik Henderson tied the game at 35-35 with a minute to play, and a free throw by Ryheem Lockley gave the Chargers a 36-35 lead with 17 seconds to play, but the Trojans scored in the final seconds to seize the win.


CCS hosts Stone Memorial Tourney this weekend
The Christchurch School basketball team will host the John Stone Memorial Tournament on Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13. Games are at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Competing teams include Christchurch, Gar-Field, Paul VI, and Trinity Christian of North Carolina.
