RCC sailing course offered
A new course, “Keelboat Sailing,” has been added to Rappahannock Community College’s physical education lineup. Individuals interested in learning to skipper or crew a keelboat safely and responsibly in light to moderate sea conditions can register for an April 2 start at the Premier Sailing School in Irvington.

RGH Baseball Tournament is Thursday in Deltaville
The Middlesex High varsity baseball team will host the Rappahannock General Hospital (RGH) Baseball Tournament on Thursday and Friday, March 25-26, at Deltaville Ball Park. At 5 p.m. on March 25, Lancaster will play Northumberland. At 7 p.m., Middlesex will play Washington & Lee.


MHS JVs show firepower in 14-7 win
imageThe Middlesex High School junior varsity baseball team defeated Lancaster 14-7 in its season opener on Friday, March 19. Shane Bristow was the winning pitcher. In 6 innings, he struck out 16 and allowed 6 hits and 1 walk. “Shane did a great job on the mound,” said JV Charger coach Jonathan Norris.


Bess: 1,006 points; to play in Europe this summer
imageMiddlesex High senior Michael Bess joined an elite group of former standout Charger basketball players earlier this month when he surpassed the 1,000-point career scoring mark against Buckingham in the State Group A Tournament.
