MHS trackmen win Region A title
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team cruised to the Region A Championship on May 25 at West Point with 80 points—outdistancing second place Lancaster by 26 points. Lancaster had 54 points; Mathews was third with 52.4 points; Essex, fourth with 52.2 points; and Northampton, fifth, 51 points.

Chargers win tourney; begin Region A play
imageThe Middlesex High Chargers completed a perfect sweep of the Tidewater District last Friday by capturing the tournament title with an 11-6 win over King William at Deltaville Ballpark. The Chargers of coach Timmy Blake won the regular season championship with an 8-0 mark and went 2-0 in the tournament.


MHS girls 5th; Cloud, Hall win
imageThe Middlesex High School girls track team tied for fifth place in the Region A track meet at West Point High School last Saturday. The Lady Chargers were paced by senior Olivia Cloud and junior Missy Hall. Cloud won the 3,200 meters (13:14.01) and Hall won the 800 meters (2:34.72).


UMVFD croaker tourney is Saturday
The 3rd annual Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (UMVFD) Croaker Fishing Tournament will be hosted on the grounds of B.E.S.T. Boatyard on Saturday, June 4. B.E.S.T. Boatyard is on the Rappahannock River just east of Saluda behind Christchurch School.
