Weller to coach all-stars
Joining Weller on the Tidewater team will be Michael Bess and Tayvon Morning from Middlesex, Kevin Dixon, Neil Brooks, Shished Williamson and Terrance Dixon from Mathews, William Cole and Malcolm Doyal from West Point, and Tony White, Louis Hosser and Luke Forbes of King and Queen.

Youth wrestling club begins matches
imageThe Middlesex Youth Wrestling Club was recently organized. The club is part of the Peninsula Youth Wrestling League (PYWL), which consists of 15 teams spanning an area from Hampton to Lancaster.


Lancaster to play for title Saturday
Lancaster scored 13 points, including nine free throws, in the second overtime period Thursday night (March 11) to get by Lee County, 62-53, and advance to the state championship game for a second time in three years.


Double overtime heartbreaker
imageMiddlesex and Buckingham battled through four quarters and two overtimes in a classic high school basketball game in the Group A Division 2 State Tournament at the Siegel Center in Richmond last Saturday afternoon. In the end, the experienced Knights of Buckingham (21-3) came away with a 73-65 win over the Chargers of Middlesex (12-10) to advance to Friday’s state semifinals.
