MHS JVs show firepower in 14-7 win
imageThe Middlesex High School junior varsity baseball team defeated Lancaster 14-7 in its season opener on Friday, March 19. Shane Bristow was the winning pitcher. In 6 innings, he struck out 16 and allowed 6 hits and 1 walk. “Shane did a great job on the mound,” said JV Charger coach Jonathan Norris.

Bess: 1,006 points; to play in Europe this summer
imageMiddlesex High senior Michael Bess joined an elite group of former standout Charger basketball players earlier this month when he surpassed the 1,000-point career scoring mark against Buckingham in the State Group A Tournament.


Lady Chargers have strong returning cast
With eight returning players on the roster, the Middlesex High varsity softball team posted a 2-0 win over visiting Lancaster on Friday. Topping the list of returning players is senior Maggie Hall, who is a three-year starter at third base and a returning captain.


MHS alumni games are Saturday
The Middlesex High School Alumni Basketball Games will be held Saturday, March 20, in the John S. Clements Memorial Gym in Saluda. The women’s game will be at 5 p.m., the men’s ages 35 and over game at 6:30 p.m., and the men’s ages 34 and under game at 8 p.m.
