Moore and Harrow lead undefeated Lady Chargers
The Middlesex High School girls cross-country team defeated West Point 22-36 last Wednesday on the Lady Chargers’ home course at Rappahannock Community College-Glenns to remain undefeated. Northumberland also participated in the meet but did not have enough girls to field a team.

Chargers host RHS Friday night
A strong Franklin team defeated Middlesex 48-7 in a varsity football game last Friday. Jeromy Rich scored the Chargers’ only touchdown in the fourth quarter on an 8-yard run. The score capped a 5-play, 65-yard scoring drive. Stone Shores kicked the extra point.


Seahawks improve to 2-0; to host Northumberland
imageThe St. Clare Walker Middle School Seahawks braved the inclement weather as they defeated the Chesapeake Academy Ospreys 2-0 this week. “We got off to a slow start, but we accomplished our goal and played well as a team,” said assistant coach Clark Laster.


HVFD golf tournament signup deadline is Oct. 1
The Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department benefit golf tournament will be held Saturday, October 2, at Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.
