Adult Soccer with the YMCA
imageThe games started with the Bayport Scout Reservation Waves competing against the Chesapeake Custom Home Yellow Bellies. The Waves pulled off the win 2-0 with goals from Kathy Ruark and Jim Beam. The Yellow Bellies were led by the great defense of Shawn Parsley and the field play of Michael Pullman.

Meyers captures Paul Sawyer Memorial; Long wins Late Model race at speedway
After two very disappointing events in Pennsylvania, Jason Meyers of Clovis, Cal., rolled into Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway last Saturday hoping that a track that has been good to him could turn his fortunes around.


Blake-Hutton doubles team qualifies for playoffs
imageMiddlesex High’s Amanda Blake and Stephanie Hutton claimed the Tidewater District tennis doubles championship last week. The Blake-Hutton duo are 8-2 overall and 4-0 in district play and have advanced to the Region A doubles tournament, which will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at the Howard Mast Tennis Center in Suffolk.


MHS to take 7-0 record to Mathews
Middlesex got an easy 10-0 win over visiting King and Queen on May 13 to remain undefeated in the Tidewater District. This Friday, May 21, at 7 p.m the Chargers (7-0, 10-5) have a showdown at Mathews, which will be looking to even the score in the final game of the regular season.
