Charger booters begin tournament play Monday
imageThe Middlesex High varsity soccer team played its toughest Tidewater District match on Monday in a 6-2 loss at Mathews in the final game of the regular season. The Chargers finished 2-4 in district play.

YMCA Adult soccer league
The YMCA Adult Soccer league continues to flourish as all eight teams continue to show team improvement. “I think the league has done an effective job distributing talent and making the teams more even than they have been in the past,” said Leroy Holt, a player.


Mathews nips MHS girls 2-0
imageMathews, undefeated in the Tidewater District, downed Middlesex 2-0 on Tuesday in Saluda. Mathews scored one run in the fourth inning and another in the sixth inning. The Lady Chargers scattered 3 hits, while their defense kept the score within reach.


Christchurch sailing team finishes 9th at nationals
imageThe Christchurch School sailing team traveled to St. Petersburg, Florida, last weekend to compete in the annual National High School Doublehand Fleet Racing Championship—the Mallory Cup. The Seahorse sailors earned their berth at the national championship by winning the entire Mid Atlantic Fleet Racing Championship earlier this season in Long Island, N.Y.
