Crump sparkles at Ferrum
imageFormer Middlesex High standout Travis Crump of Hardyville has been named second team All-USA South Athletic Conference this spring after batting .346 for the Ferrum College Panthers in 2009. Crump, a sophomore, started every game in the outfield and had 20 RBIs, 30 runs, 9 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 stolen bases for the Panthers.

Reed wins three events to lead Lady Chargers
imageThe Middlesex High School girls track team captured second place Saturday in the King William (Bob Murray) Invitational at King William High School. King William won with 173 points; Middlesex was second with 114 points; Windsor, third, 98; Lancaster, fourth, 44; King and Queen, fifth, 27; and Northumberland, sixth, 20.


Christchurch is Mid-Atlantic Sailing Champion
imageChristchurch School sailors competed in the Mid-Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association Championship Regatta last weekend in Long Island, N.Y. The Seahorses defeated teams from New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia to finish first and claim the championship title.


MHS trackmen finish third
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team finished third behind Windsor and Lancaster Saturday in the King William (Bob Murray) Invitational track meet at King William High School. Windsor won the meet with 116 points; Lancaster was second with 108 points; Middlesex, third, 98.5 points; King William, fourth, 90; King and Queen, fifth, 75.5; and Northumberland, sixth, 63.
