Middlesex girls capture Region A track title
imageFor only the third time since girls track was started at Middlesex High School in 1976, the Lady Chargers won the Region A title last Thursday at West Point. The Lady Chargers competed against 19 schools in the regional meet and scored 68 points to win the title. Lancaster was second with 58 points and Northampton on the Eastern Shore was third with 56 points.

Fletcher named Baseball Player of the Year
imageMiddlesex High baseball standout Jake Fletcher is the Tidewater District Player of the Year for 2009. Fletcher led the Chargers in several statistics. He batted .510 with 25 hits, including 6 doubles, 2 triples and 4 home runs. He had 12 RBIs, 9 stolen bases and 20 runs.


Four Lady Chargers on 1st team All-District
imageThe first unit of the 2009 All-Tidewater District Softball Team includes four Middlesex High players—senior outfielder Whitney Walton, and three sophomores, catcher Raquel Pierce, shortstop Amanda Brown and outfielder Ashley Williams.


MHS girls advance to Region A finals
The Middlesex High School girls tennis team defeated Rappahannock 5-1 in the semifinals of the Region A Tournament Tuesday at RCC-Glenns. MHS will travel to Suffolk today, May 28, to play Franklin for the Region A “team title.”
