Colts score 19-12 upset in overtime for first win
imageSaturday, September 10, was a day all Middlesex Colts fans will remember. It was the day the Colts Mites (6-7-year-olds) upset the Tri-City Hurricanes (Newport News - Warwick) 19-12 in overtime. The Colts were led by Phillips Hart, who scored two touchdowns, and Talon Cheatham, who rushed for over 100 yards and scored another TD.

MHS cross country team is largest ever
The Middlesex High School boys and girls cross country teams opened their regular seasons Saturday in the Newport News Invitational at a Newport News park. Freshman Ridge Ellis paced the Chargers by running a swift 19:12 time over the 3.2 mile course to finish 53rd in a field of 164 runners from 24 schools.


Lady Chargers win two, fall to Lancaster
The Middlesex High varsity volleyball team defeated Washington & Lee and Essex this week, but suffered a loss to Lancaster on September 7. W&L kept it close in the first game on September 8, but Middlesex held on for a 25-20 win and took the next two games 25-12 and 25- 8.


CCS Wins 2nd on the Road
Jordan Wallace carried the Seahorse offense to a decisive victory once again. 155 yards of rushing and his fifth touchdown of the year mark some impressive statistics for the junior running back from Hampton, VA. Although Nansemond Suffolk Academy put up a gutsy and physical fight, Christchurch prevailed 33-0.
