Va Bat Busters win NSA Busch Gardens Classic
imageThe Virginia Bat Busters 12U fastpitch softball team won the NSA Busch Gardens Classic tournament that took place on August 6th and 7th at Stoney Run in Newport News. They went 6 - 1 for the weekend, scoring a total of 51 runs while allowing 27, with wins over Hanover Sports, the Williamsburg Starz, Bay River Rumble, Blue Ridge Heat III, and The Stafford Surge.

Deltas fall twice in playoffs
imageThe Deltaville Deltas 2011 season came to an end last weekend, as they fell twice in the Southern Virginia Baseball League Tournament. Deltaville lost 14-2 to the Peninsula Cardinals on Saturday night, and 5-3 to the York Cannons on Sunday afternoon. The Deltas, the league’s regular season champion, finished with a record of 17-6.


Rage softball tryouts set
imageIn preparation for its 12th year of fast-pitch softball, the Northern Neck Rage will conduct tryouts for ages 10 and under (10U), 12U, and 14U teams on Friday, August 5, and Sunday, August 7, at 5:30 p.m. on the Warsaw Campus of Rappahannock Community College.


Two CCS players bound for the ACC
imageChristchurch School offensive tackles Win Homer (#62) and Will Smith (#53) will join ACC football programs next year. Homer committed to Boston College on May 27, and Smith accepted an offer from Wake Forest University on July 25.
