Payne leads MHS past Pointers
A 4-run rally in the sixth inning helped Middlesex shut down Tidewater District foe West Point 9-0 on Tuesday in a varsity softball game at West Point. The Lady Chargers tallied 5 hits and were aided by numerous West Point miscues.

Little League spring training involves 55 youngsters
imageMiddlesex County Little League’s 2010 spring training clinic last Saturday had great weather and 55 participants learning the fundamentals of throwing, fielding and batting.


Middlesex YMCA adult sports continues to grow
imageThe adult sports program at the Middlesex Family YMCA is growing by leaps and bounds with over 700 adults participating in the five adult leagues. For example, the YMCA started volleyball for adults last year with five teams. This year there are 12 teams.


MHS booters fall to Essex; JVs win
Two minutes into the second half, Charger Owen Holt was fouled in the Trojan penalty box, resulting in a penalty kick for the Chargers. Holt’s shot was a bullet past the Trojan goalie for Middlesex’s lone score of the match.
