Group AAA Norview wins tourney title; MHS is 2nd
imageThe Middlesex High School boys basketball team turned up the defensive pressure in the second half Tuesday night en route to a 68-55 road win over Rappahannock. “We came out in the second half and really played some good defense,” said MHS coach Brody Jackson. “When we play good defense our offense always seems to come alive.”

Seahorses dominate All-State football team
Christchurch School players were voted to 10 positions on the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II All-State Football Team. The Seahorses finished the 2011 season with a 10-0 record and Division II State Champions.


MHS JVs are 6-0
With Tuesday’s 36-13 shellacking of Rappahannock, the Middlesex High girls JV basketball team remains undefeated as the Tidewater District season is set to start on Thursday, January 5. “There is no substitution for speed and size, and we have both,” said MHS head coach Mike Lewis.


Youth basketball league season opens Saturday
The Middlesex Youth Basketball League (MYBL) will open its 2012 season this Saturday, January 7, with dress scrimmages at Middlesex High School for the Junior Boys, Senior Boys and Girls divisions, and games at Middlesex Elementary School for the Starter Division.
