Madden wins World of Outlaws $25,000 feature
Three visits have resulted in three wins, the latest the biggest of all as Madden took the lead with 8 laps to go en route to a $25,000 payday in the inaugural Commonwealth 100 in front of a packed speedway house.

Shores competes in all-star swim meet
imageTaylor Shores, 12, of Urbanna recently competed in the Eastern Zones Short Course All-Star meet held in Rochester, New York, April 1-3. Just getting into that meet was an accomplishment. To compete in Rochester, Shores had to be among the top 3 swimmers in her age and event division in Virginia.


Rally falls short for Middlesex JV softball team
imageThe Middlesex JV softball team battled back against visiting West Point on Tuesday but fell short, 7-5. “We’re a young team but we’re learning every time we play,” said MHS coach Ashley Gibaud.


MHS routs West Point
The Middlesex High varsity baseball team routed West Point 12-3 Tuesday behind a strong hitting attack and good pitching from Harley Moore. Moore allowed no earned runs and picked up the win. Keith Whitley came on in relief in the fifth inning and closed out the game.
