Seahorses play St. Anne’s in state semifinals Friday
Christchurch School will battle top-seeded St. Anne’s Belfield at 7 p.m. this Friday, November 12, in Charlottesville in the semifinals of the State VISAA Division II football playoffs. This is the first trip to the state playoffs for the 4th-seeded Seahorses (7-2) since 2006.

Lockley leads Chargers to first win
The Middlesex High School varsity football team won its first game of the season last Thursday with a 34-28 homecoming win over King and Queen at MHS in Saluda. The Royal Tigers led 8-7 in the first quarter, but two first half interceptions by the Chargers that set up touchdown drives were the difference in the game.

imageThe Chargers will host King and Queen High School in the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. The MHS homecoming queen and king will be crowned at halftime.


MHS girls are district runner-up
Mathews (9-0) continued its dominance on the volleyball court by winning the Tidewater District regular season title last Thursday and capturing the district tournament on Monday. Middlesex (7-3, 15-3) finished second to Mathews in the regular season and in the tournament. Mathews was the only team to defeat Middlesex this season.
