MHS spring sports swing into action next week
On Monday, March 12, the Middlesex High varsity baseball team will host Rappahannock at 5 p.m. at Deltaville Ballpark. The JV baseball team will travel to Rappahannock for a 5 p.m. game on Monday. Also on Monday, the Lady Chargers softball team will host Rappahannock at 5 p.m. at MHS; while the JV Lady Chargers play at Rappahannock at 5 p.m.

Little League spring training due March 17
Middlesex County Little League will team up with Wells Fargo Advisors, EVB Bank, Citizens and Farmers Bank, and Colonial Virginia Bank to sponsor and host a baseball and softball spring training event on Saturday, March 17. Local coaches, players and special guests will combine efforts to provide instruction in the fundamentals of fielding, throwing and batting.


Means broadcasts 300th game
imageIt all started at the age of 12. Demetrius Means of Lancaster was in the sixth grade and he loved to talk and was good at it. In fact, he talked so much that his 6th grade teacher suggested that he start performing in school plays. Not only was he good in remembering his lines, but he remembered everyone’s script and he would act out their lines too.


Heart-breaker: MHS loses 70-68 in regional semifinals
imageL.A. Allen hit a 3-pointer with 3.7 seconds remaining to give West Point a 70-68 win over top-seeded Middlesex in the Region A Division 1 semifinals Friday night at MHS in Saluda. In the other semifinal, third-seeded Charles City nipped second-seeded Surry 61-58.
