Henry repeats as state long jump champion
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team tied with Mathews for 17th place at the State Group A Track Meet last Saturday at Radford University. Manassas Park won the boys competition with 51 points. The Chargers scored 12 points in the meet and had two performers, Chris Henry and Jeromy Rich, receive All-State honors.

Moore named All-Region & District MVP; Crittenden as All-Region pick
imageCharger pitcher Harley Moore, who has accepted an offer to play baseball at Dickenson College in Pennsylvania next year, was the District MVP. He also was first team selection as a pitcher for a second straight season. Charger second baseman Alex Crittenden repeated as the All-District second baseman.


Hall scores in state track meet
imageThe Middlesex High School girls track team finished 39th in at the State Group A Track Meet last Saturday at Radford University. Missy Hall finished eighth in the 800 meters (2:32.56) to earn All-State honors, and scored the only point for the Lady Chargers. Hall also finished 17th in the long jump (14’10”).


Chargers visit Appomattox in state tournament Tues.
Lancaster upset Middlesex 6-4 at Deltaville Ballpark last Friday to win the Group A Region A Division 2 baseball championship. Both teams advanced to the state tournament quarterfinals set for Tuesday, June 7. Middlesex will visit Region B champion Appomattox at 6 p.m., and Lancaster will host Region B runner-up Strasburg at 7 p.m. in Kilmarnock.
