Devils edge Lady Chargers in overtime
Mathews and West Point tied for first place in the regular season, which forced a playoff game for the title. On Monday in the Middlesex gym, West Point won the tie-breaking game 43-28 to finish in first place, putting Mathews in second. Middlesex finished third and King William was fourth.

Lady Chargers play February 16
The girls Tidewater District basketball tournament gets under way on Wednesday, February 16, at 7 p.m. when third-seeded Middlesex (3-5,9-8) plays at second-seeded Mathews, and first-seeded West Point hosts fourth-seeded King William. The girls district championship is on Friday, February 18, at 6 p.m. at King William.


Chargers win 2nd straight title
imageFor only the third time in Middlesex High School history, the boys varsity basketball team has won a regular season district championship by going undefeated in district play. It was the second straight regular season title for coach Patrick Weller’s Chargers.


Lady Chargers seek tournament success
The Middlesex High varsity girls basketball team fell to West Point 34-26 on Monday in Saluda. The Lady Chargers dropped to 3-4 in the Tidewater District and 9-7 overall and are in third place in the Tidewater District with one game to go in the regular season. Middlesex hosted Mathews on February 9 in its regular season finale.
