Chargers visit Appomattox in state tournament Tues.
Lancaster upset Middlesex 6-4 at Deltaville Ballpark last Friday to win the Group A Region A Division 2 baseball championship. Both teams advanced to the state tournament quarterfinals set for Tuesday, June 7. Middlesex will visit Region B champion Appomattox at 6 p.m., and Lancaster will host Region B runner-up Strasburg at 7 p.m. in Kilmarnock.

Chargers play for Region A title on Friday
The Middlesex High baseball team shut out Windsor 12-0 on Wednesday, June 1, to advance to the Group A Region A Division 2 Tournament championship to be played on Friday, June 3, at 6 p.m. at the Deltaville Ballpark. Middlesex will host Lancaster who defeated Nandua 5-3 on Wednesday.


MHS trackmen win Region A title
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team cruised to the Region A Championship on May 25 at West Point with 80 points—outdistancing second place Lancaster by 26 points. Lancaster had 54 points; Mathews was third with 52.4 points; Essex, fourth with 52.2 points; and Northampton, fifth, 51 points.


Chargers win tourney; begin Region A play
imageThe Middlesex High Chargers completed a perfect sweep of the Tidewater District last Friday by capturing the tournament title with an 11-6 win over King William at Deltaville Ballpark. The Chargers of coach Timmy Blake won the regular season championship with an 8-0 mark and went 2-0 in the tournament.
