Hammond wins three events
The Middlesex High School boys track team earned second place in a tri-meet at King William on March 24. Rappahannock won the competition with 106 points, Middlesex scored 65.5 points, and King William had 43.5 points. Washington and Lee was supposed to attend the meet but did not show up.

YMCA youth soccer
imageThe Middlesex Family YMCA Youth Soccer program’s age 3-5 division divided the youth into 3-4 and 4-5 year olds. The 3-4 year old W.E. Moye & Son A/C & Heating are coached by Chris Moye, Sarah Rae, and Ranger Joe Hickey. The 3-4 year olds are learning the basic skills of soccer, such as “no hands,” and how to score a goal.


YMCA team completes Monument 10K
imageHeralded as one of the 10 largest road races in America, the YMCA team was part of a field consisting of over 37,000 runners and walkers. Despite unseasonably cool temperatures and 10-15 mph gusts of wind, the group successfully pushed through the historic and spectator-laden avenue.


MHS freshman named honorable mention All-State
imageFreshman Ryheem Lockley has been selected honorable mention Group A All-State by the Virginia High School League coaches.
