Moore no-hits West Point
Senior lefty Harley Moore pitched a 5-inning game no-hitter Tuesday as Middlesex routed West Point 13-0 in Deltaville. Moore (5-1) struck out 8 and walked 2. At the plate, he had 2 singles and an RBI. The Chargers (4-0, 6-3) had only 6 hits in the game but took advantage of 6 hit batters and 8 walks.

Middlesex High’s Megan Payne (7-2) hurled her fourth shutout of the season in Tuesday’s 10-0 varsity win over visiting West Point. It was the Lady Chargers’ fourth win in a row against West Point. Two of those games were non-district contests, that Middlesex won 14-0 and 8-5 on April 19.

John and Kevin Walsh of Middlesex High School have signed National Letters of Intent with Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. Both received partial athletic scholarships to run for the Pirates’ cross-country team this fall.
05.04.2011Weller accepts coaching position at Buffalo Gap
Patrick Weller has resigned as the Middlesex High School boys basketball coach to accept a similar position at Buffalo Gap High School. Buffalo Gap is only a 15-minute drive from the Weller family home in Staunton.
