Middlesex High JVs improve to 3-0 in district
The Middlesex High School boys JV basketball team lost 47-31 to a strong, undefeated Lancaster squad on January 19, but regrouped to defeat West Point 41-34 on Friday.

Hence plays key role for Army
imageFormer Middlesex Youth Basketball League (MYBL) standout Jeremy Hence is getting plenty of playing time this year with the Division I U.S. Military Academy (Army) basketball team. At 6’4”, Jeremy plays small forward for Army and got the starting nod in last Saturday’s nationally-televised loss to Navy.


Varsity Chargers fall to Mathews, LHS
imageA poor shooting night caught up with Middlesex in the second half as the Chargers lost a hard-fought Tidewater District game 59-52 at Mathews Friday night. Middlesex shot 32% from the floor and made only 9 of 21 free throws (43%) in a game it could have won.


JV Chargers atop district standings
imageWith a 45-38 road win over Mathews Friday, the Middlesex High JV boys basketball team is in first place in the Tidewater District. “We had gotten off to slow starts the past three games, but the players did a good job of being focused and ready to play against Mathews,” said MHS coach Jason Daniel.
