Middlesex Colts to play in preseason jamboree
The Middlesex County Virginia Youth Football Association will field four Middlesex Colts teams in a jamboree/scrimmage set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, August 18, at the Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg. The four Middlesex teams will be among over 100 teams scheduled to compete in the jamboree.

Deltas finish in 3rd place
imageThe Deltaville Deltas season came to an end on Saturday night in Williamsburg as the Peninsula Pirates overcame a 5-2 deficit to win 11-6. With the loss, the Deltas were eliminated from tournament play, placing 3rd in the Southern Virginia Baseball League. Their final record stands at 16-9.


MHS golf team opens season
With only 3 practices under its belt, the MHS golf team opened its season on Tuesday at PRGC against the Rappahannock Raiders. “The League’s requirement dates for district, regional and state competitions simply don’t allow for much practice time before the regular season starts,” explained MHS coach Greg Harrow.


Hunley wins docking competition
imageJimmy John Hunley earned first place in the Wood Division of the Second Annual Cape Charles Docking Competition with “Jordan Lynn,” a 42-foot wooden deadrise built by Grover Lee Owens. Equipped with a Detroit Diesel 671 Turbo, Hunley completed the turn around and tie-up in one minute, six seconds.
