MHS boys and girls play in RGH title games tonight
In the semifinals of the RGH Baseball Tournament at Deltaville Ballpark on Thursday, March 29, Washington & Lee routed Mathews 10-1, and Middlesex downed Lancaster 5-2. On Friday, March 30, Mathews will play Lancaster in the third place game at 5 p.m., and Middlesex will play W&L for the championship at 7 p.m.

Hart scores in five events to lead trackmen
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team finished second in a tri-meet last week behind first place Mathews. The Devils scored 85 points, MHS had 61, and West Point 12. “Overall the boys are doing a great job this year led by senior P.J. Hart and freshman Ridge Ellis,” said head coach Joel Anderson.


Weber, Keeling, Wake lead JVs
imageThe Middlesex High JV softball team held Lancaster in check through 4 innings last week but could not contain the Lady Red Devils who prevailed in the late innings with a 15-9 non-district win. Freshman Kaitlyn Weber pitched a complete game for the JV Lady Chargers with 10 strikeouts.


MYBL girls win all-star tourney
imageLast Saturday the Middlesex Youth Basketball League (MYBL) hosted a Girls 14 & Under Invitational Tournament. Middlesex downed Mathews twice to capture the crown. Mathews was runner-up and Lancaster also participated. The Middlesex girls won first place trophies and the Mathews girls earned runner-up ribbons.
