Lady Chargers down K&Q
The Middlesex High varsity volleyball team split a pair of Tidewater District matches, losing at King William in 4 games on October 2 and defeating King and Queen in 3 games on October 4. Middlesex started off strong with a lot of energy at King William and won the first game 25-15.

Middlesex harriers finish second
The Middlesex High School boys and girls cross country teams finished second on October 3 in a quad-meet at Rappahannock Community College-Glenns. Mathews won the boys team competition with 20 points; Middlesex was second with 69; Northumberland, third, 86; and Christchurch, fourth, 100.


Colts Juniors rally falls short
imageLast Saturday the Middlesex Colts Juniors (ages 12-14) second half rally came up short as the Back River Panthers of Poquoson handed the Colts a 25-13 defeat. In the first half, the Colts squandered multiple scoring opportunities to fall behind 19-0.


Chargers host Pointers in homecoming game Friday
The Middlesex High School Chargers football team ran into some stiff competition at Sussex Central Friday night as the Tigers, ranked 3rd in the state, roared to a 74-14 win. The Chargers (2-3) will host West Point at 7 p.m. this Friday, October 5, in the MHS homecoming game in Saluda. It will be both teams’ Tidewater District openers.
