Spanish mackerel continue to be the focus of many anglers. When schools of fish are located, the action is steady and the fish are nice, with many over 20 inches. Clark and Drone spoons are the favored baits, and although these fish can be caught any time of day, the late afternoons and early evenings appear to be the most productive.

In addition to the Chargers, Colonial Beach, Northumberland and Rappahannock will take part in the event. Each team in the field will have three scrimmages—each against a different opponent. Each scrimmage will last about 25 minutes with a break between scrimmages. Admission to the jamboree is $3.

In the world of race cars Glenn Bunch’s Dodge Challenger is classic American Iron made faster by aerodynamics. Designed and built in 1978 by Bunch, it was a race winner with IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) and at the Lumberman’s 500—more than 30 years ago.
Spanish mackerel are generating all the excitement and plenty of activity in the middle bay. Anglers fishing out of Fish On Bait and Tackle(804-776-0820) in Deltaville are catching Spanish from Wolf Trap Light all the way to the top of the Cut Channel.
