Chargers down Pointers in semifinals; play Cavaliers for title Friday
Middlesex will battle King William at 7 p.m. this Friday, May 27, at Deltaville Ballpark for the championship of the Tidewater District baseball tournament. The Chargers compiled an 8-0 record in winning the district’s regular season championship, and they defeated West Point 9-3 in the tournament semifinals Tuesday night.

Seahorses are state runners-up
imageThe 6th-seeded Christchurch School baseball team won playoff games over perennial powerhouse Greenbriar Christian Academy (22-8) and The Steward School (24-4) to earn a spot in the state final against The Covenant School (23-5), the team that finished second in 2010.


Chargers clinch district crown
Middlesex clinched the regular season championship of the Tidewater District with a 2-1 extra-inning win over Mathews last Friday in Deltaville. The Chargers are now 7-0 in the district with one game remaining—at Mathews this Friday, May 20, at 7 p.m. That game is preceded by a JV game at 5 p.m


Lockley named 1st team All-State
imageSophomore forward Ryheem Lockley of Middlesex High has been voted first team All-State Group A by the Associated Press. Lockley, the Tidewater District Player of the Year and a first team All-Region A selection, led the Chargers to the State Group A Division 2 Tournament for a second straight year in 2011.
