Chargers host Pointers in homecoming game Friday
The Middlesex High School Chargers football team ran into some stiff competition at Sussex Central Friday night as the Tigers, ranked 3rd in the state, roared to a 74-14 win. The Chargers (2-3) will host West Point at 7 p.m. this Friday, October 5, in the MHS homecoming game in Saluda. It will be both teams’ Tidewater District openers.

imageThe Middlesex High varsity volleyball team opened its Tidewater District season on September 25 by sweeping visiting West Point in three games, 25-23, 25-13 and 26-24. Middlesex also lost a district match at King William on October 2.


Colts trample Saints; capture three games
When the Middlesex Colts Youth Football Association was formed in April 2011, one of the goals was to eventually be competitive in the tough 51-year-old Peninsula Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization. Team coaches and board members realized that being competitive against the established city teams would take several years.


Christchurch School Volleyball
image"Nothing comes easy for the Lady Seahorses, but this group will be ready to compete. We will take this season one match at a time," says Head Coach Karen Bryd. Last year’s Christchurch volleyball team finished first in the VCC conference and captured the conference tournament trophy after a 20-3 season finish.
