Chargers fall to Red Devils, 48-14
imageThe Middlesex High School varsity football record fell to 1-1 Friday as the Chargers lost, 48-14, to a powerful Lancaster High School team. “You can’t make mistakes against a team like Lancaster and expect to win,” said Charger head coach Josh Franke. “Lancaster is ranked in the top 5 teams in Region A.”

JV Chargers top Lancaster, 35-26
The Middlesex High School junior varsity football team defeated Lancaster, 35-26, last Wednesday at Saluda. The Chargers were paced by D’Angelo King and Mar’quez Holmes. King scored one touchdown and Holmes had two scores. Joseph Cockrell kicked two extra points and King scored on two two-point conversion attempts.


Christchurch School’s Jason Soucek Tournament
imageChristchurch School Dean of Instruction Donny Pyles, a college classmate of Soucek’s, addressed the Christchurch students in assembly on Friday morning – telling them about Jason and the kind of friend he was, and about the significance of the tournament to the Christchurch community-at-large.


MHS football: ‘Winning starts now’ 
imageMiddlesex High School earned its first varsity football win in about 650 days last Friday by rallying past Mathews 27-23 on the Blue Devils’ home field. Two minutes into the second half the game began to turn for the Chargers. Middlesex tailback JD Diggs shook off tackles and sprinted 23 yards to score.
